As an Altadena resident who lost my own home to the Eaton Fire, I hope to share my knowledge and experience for neighbors who plan to rebuild after the devastating fires. After the Palisades fire, rebuilding efforts are underway, with the City of Los Angeles establishing a one-stop rebuilding center and issuing permits, though the process is ongoing, and some residents face challenges in navigating the rebuilding process.

1. Rebuilding Centers & Streamlined Processes:

• One-Stop Rebuilding Center:

  The City of Los Angeles opened a consolidated LA One-Stop Rebuilding Center at 1828 Sawtelle Blvd. to help residents rebuild their homes and businesses. Palisades 1-Stop Rebuilding Center

• Streamlined Permitting:

  Mayor Karen Bass issued an executive order to create a one-stop shop to swiftly issue permits to rebuild in fire-affected areas. Streamlined Permitting

• LA County Rebuilding Resources:

  Los Angeles County is also committed to a streamlined rebuilding process and has established one-stop permit centers. Rebuilding Resources

• Debris Removal:

  Before construction can begin, homeowners must have all debris cleared from their lots. Deb ris Removal

• Free Debris Removal:

  For Palisades residents, debris removal is free through a federal program, but homeowners must opt in by completing a Right of Entry form.  Free Debris Removal
